Dunedin Field of Remembrance
A Field of Remembrance is established in the Oval, Princess Street each ANZAC Day. The crosses are provided by the Trust and bear the names of the men of the Otago Regiments. Every effort has been made to identify men from the wider Otago region who served in other specialist units e.g. the Machine Gunners and include those who served in overseas forces i.e Australian and Great britain. The numbers have increased progressively each year as the men who died one hundred years ago are added to the Field.

The Otago military district included Otago and Southland. Communities from those regions are establishing Fields of Remembrance honouring those who never returned from the First World War. The major regional field is placed in the Oval each ANZAC Day and on other significant memorial dates. Schools are also establishing a Field or joining with their community.
